My client is selling tickets to a concert.  He has customers who are purchasing 10,20, even 40 tickets and giving them away but there is no way for him to give each person a ticket.  Am I overlooking something?

Hi Paul,

Can you let us know what the actual issue is? Are they concerned about fraud or something?

For example:

We are selling tickets ($20) to a concert.  The person will purchase lets say 20 tickets and they plan on giving them to family, friends, coworkers to attend the concert.  The person purchasing the tickets does not know exactly who he will be giving a ticket to at the time of purchase.

When he receives his tickets, it is only 1 paper printout, all with the same scan code.  I understand that he can just simply copy the ticket 20 times and this will work as he hands them out to his attendees, but what prevents someone from doing the same thing and showing up with “let’s say tickets 6-10 of which 4 of those are ones they just copied”

What happens when ticket 16 shows up for the event, it is going to show that all 20 tickets have been used.  This is not how ticketmaster, eventbrite, itickets, etc. handle multiple tickets

Why can’t it simply print out 20 individual tickets in his PDF each with a unique ID number (scan number) for that ticket?

Hi Paul,

The ticket scanner app tracks the number of times that the ticket code was scanned.
It will let you know if a ticket has been scanned more than the quantity it’s good for.

what prevents someone from doing the same thing and showing up with “let’s say tickets 6-10 of which 4 of those are ones they just copied”

Hi,
You are still not understanding my main concern
So what happens if someone copies the ticket and then someone shows up with their copy?
If I am unable to explain this clearly, can you please call me at 864-279-4834

Thanks,

Josh

If someone copies the ticket and then someone shows up with a copy the mobile ticket scanner app will deny the copy (or whichever ticket gets scanned after the first is scanned.)

what if that person purchased 4 tickets and they are not showing up at the same time?

The scanner will accept multiple printouts of the ticket up to 4 times. These can be scanned at any time in cases where they do not show up at the same time. After 4 scans it denies the ticket.
