When I delete attendees from an event then export the attendee list they are still there. They no longer apear in the dashboard but are still in the download. This is causing an issue because we are using that list to update our Mailchimp system and people are still getting emails about the event after they have canceled.

Hi Nova, Can you check to see if the database is being cached? |
I’m not using any caching plugin on the site – is there an other way the database could be getting cached? |
Hi Nova, I’m not sure. I’m aware of some hosts that do some caching, but not sure if they add any caching to the database. The functions that delete an attendee record will normally delete the record from the database. You might try looking directly in the database for the attendee records to see if they’re actually being deleted. |

We’ve checked and they are still appearing in the database even though they are deleted and do not show up in the EE dashboard. It gets stranger because it is only happening in some cases but not others. Some people when cancelled disappear all together but others remained. My client runs multiple events with hundreds of people attending so this is a big problem for them. |

I took a look at this locally and cannot recreate the issue. Deleted attendees are gone from the database and the export (which is just pulling data from the database). Have you spoken to your host about Josh’s idea regarding the database being cached? |
I don’t see how the database could be cached we don’t have any cache running on it. If there was a cache on the database it would have to update at some point and the attendees remain there weeks after being deleted. Could this be a multisite issue? Even though the plugin is not network activited and is live on the particular site – do you think this could be causing the issue? nova |

A quick test on my local multisite installation says that it probably is not the issue, but of course your server versus my local install will be different. You say that this is when they cancel. Are the users cancelling via the Profile or via the My Events shortcode? |
No users are phoning up and cancelling and the admins are deleting them from the attendee list. |
Attendees are not members of the site so they have no access to My Events |
Hi Nova, When the admins are deleting the attendee records from the list, are they seeing the: “Customer(s) have been successfully deleted from the event.” message at the top of the screen? One thing that can be done is check the server’s error logs to see if there any errors thrown when you delete an attendee record. You could even add an attendee via the admin, then go back and delete it, then check the error logs. |
