Hi,
I posted these questions under the wrong topic, I think, so I’m reposting them here:
My questions are about the disaster that is our payment options page: http://boulderwalkingtours.com/
1. The page mentions 3 payment options but only shows 2
2. In fact, we only want 2 options but the ones showing are the wrong ones
3. We need to remove the credit card option but can’t figure out how to do that
3. The two options are supposed to be PayPal and Stripe, but of those 2, only PayPal shows up, despite having all of the Stripe info entered and activated
4. The formatting is atrocious
Any help you could provide would be hugely appreciated!

Are you sure that the credit card option that you want to remove isn’t actually Stripe?

Event Espresso doesn’t add the text where it says there’s a number of ways to pay. Was that something a developer added as a customization?

That is quite possible. My friend purchased the business from his employer and acquired the site and all of its quirks as part of the package.
Can you point me to the settings or file(s) where I might look to fix it? Thank you.

The files that they might have modified are:
event-espresso/gateways/gateway_display.php
or in
/wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways/
You might do an audit on the files in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/ directory since that could be where the quirks are emanating from. Either that or they modified the core files from within Event Espresso itself.

The credit card option is Stripe, it turns out. So that’s a good thing and all I need to do is mess with the text and layout. If you have any ideas 🙂

I’d recommend removing those customizations. The extra text that says there are 3 ways to pay, and the numbered labels are throwing off the layout.

Thanks for the suggestions!
This file: event-espresso/gateways/gateway_display.php, was just installed this morning with an upgrade of Event Espresso so it hasn’t been touched. I assume that I wrote over the core Event Espresso files when I did the upgrade, is that a correct assumption?
I will look at the uploads/espresso directory to see if I can find anything.

Yes you’re correct that updating to a new version will overwrite the core files. They probably modified the files in
/wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways/stripe/stripe_vars.php
and
/wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways/paypal/paypal_vars.php

I found it! It was in stripe_vars.php, which probably means nothing to anyone. Anyway, thanks a million!!!
