Continuation of previous post: https://eventespresso.com/topic/delayed-email-continued-2/ We have ‘Send on a separate message’ setting with wp-cron enabled. We are still receiving many messages 2-3 hours after registration approval. Also, today we had an order where the Braintree gateway rejected twice and then approved. We received three Registration Approved messages.

You could make use of a transactional email service which will help cut down on the delay and help eliminate duplicate emails. We have a list of recommended transactional email services here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ |

We do use a commercial mail gateway Smarthost and are not receiving any mail attempts other than the delivered messages. Are you saying our mail gateway is refusing messages at times from Event Espresso? I am not able to find any evidence of that. And that would explain messages in triplicate? |

Where did I say your mail gateway is refusing messages at times from Event Espresso? I mentioned using a transaction email service because if there’s a delay, that delay can happen at the mail server level. |

Agreed, can happen. I have confirmed the last transaction was at 12:03pm while the first Received header in the delivered message was at 12:54pm Received: from archives.wmnf.org (sound.wmnf.org [<website server IP>]) Do you have an idea why we get messages it seems when CC is rejected at the Braintree gateway? As in the example I noted in the OP. |

I do not. You can check the Messages Activity logs in Event Espresso > Messages to see when those were generated. There’s also payment requests logged in Event Espresso > Payment Methods Settings > Logs. |

The Registration Approved to Event Admin match the delivered date and time as seen in Message Activity:
The two Braintree rejections and approval were 3:03pm, 3:04pm and 3:07pm, respectively. |
