Hello – our system is generally working consistently with “registration approved” as the default. However, yesterday we got one that was “payment pending” status and no emails were sent – we just happened to notice it in the data. What could have happened to prevent this from going to “registration approved”? We do no payment processing within EE so that is why we have it go to Registration Approved.

If you open up the transaction for this registration and view the additional session details (link right below the transaction line items), what does it show for the finalise registration step?
That’s the problem, the user didn’t finalise the registration.
They got to the payment options page and then stopped, navigated away or closed the browser. The default registration status is only applied when the registration is finalised.
I know your not taking payments withing EE itself but could be worth adding some details to the checkout page stating they need to finite the registration to try and prevent this.
Which payment method do you have enabled? (I assume just one payment method here?)
