When I click “Email Event Attendees” and want to freely type the text of the email, all I see is a blank email page. Is there a way to default in my custom HTML email template (that I use for all registration confirmation emails)?

Happy New Year!

Yes.

I saw that, but it’s not quite what I’m looking for. Let me clarify the use case:
An event administrator needs to email all attendees a last-minute change to an event. As such a change cannot be anticipated, I cannot create a pre-existing email to handle the case.

I’d like the email area to contain our HTML email template by default. Then, the event admin can free-type their message, while maintaining the business’s official letterhead.

I think I can do this by inserting my template into event_newsletter.php, LN 44: “
But doing so breaks upgradability. Can you suggest any alternatives?

Hi Patrick,

I see what you are trying to do and that would be a nice feature for us to add in as it is not currently possible. I will add this to the feature request list but currently all new features are on hold/low priority due to focusing work on 3.2.

In the short term, yes you would need to amend the core files to achieve what you are after. Specifically the wp_editor function in event_newsletter.php

Thanks for your help. Please focus on 3.2, and add this to your future todo list!
