Default Approved Registration not working (EE4.3.1)

I have set my default registration to Approved and checked all events. However, when I attempt to register myself I show up as pending payment. I tracked when my registration appears and it is not until after I select a payment option and am redirected off site. (We want all registrations to appear as Approved so as not to overbook, even without completed payment).

It seem to me that the registration should go through after you fill out the registration for and in fact there is a pop-up that says this has happened. I can not figure out why the registration is not working.

I just tried this out in 4.3.1, and it looks like it’s working.
One thing to keep in mind is that in EE4, the registration status (Appoved, etc) is independant of the transaction status (Incomplete, etc). You can have a registration that is Approved, despite it’s transaction being Incomplete.
Can you provide some screenshots or a screencast showing exactly what you are seeing?

Was this change made on the event through the event editor –> event registration options?

The global setting does not affect existing events.

Example of event I am trying to register for:

I just put in my registration info, a green box popped up and said my registration was successful:

When I view registrations I am not there:

I select paypal, and click on ‘Finalize registration:

Then I go to the paypal offsite.

Now I appear in registrations:

But it lists me as Pending Payment:

I can send login info by PM if that helps.

Are you trying to set it to approved regardless of the payment status?

Yes, I want the registration to show as approved as soon as the client fills out their Name and Email and clicks register. I don’t want them to have to select a payment method.

Hi Tatiana,

Thanks for letting us know about this, we will look into it.

Please note though that even if the user is marked as Approved they still need to select a payment option of some kind, whether it is an offline gateway (invoice, etc) or an actual payment gateway.

If the event has a price they must select a way to pay.

A little update on this: Event Espresso 4.4.4.p was finally released today and it includes a fix for the issue you reported.
