I am using Event Espresso for the day to day operations of a flea market. I need to find a good solution for day of event rentals. I have a few questions regarding that: I have local on site attendants that will roam the event to make sure that people have paid for a table or “seat.” If they find someone in the field that hasn’t paid for their table or “seat,” is there a solution for tablets or mobile phones that will allow the attendent to quickly reserve a table or “seat” for them and have them pay with something like “pay pal here” or “square”? This process will need to be repeated over 100 times on some days so the process will need to be quick. I noticed the app, but all it seems to do is scan tickets and show reservations, is this correct? If there is no appropriate solution for this use or issue, is something like this on your radar or list of features to execute? If so, how high of a priority is it? I am open to any and all suggestions and solutions. I really like the software but there are some features I can’t seem to find or figure out. Thanks. Justin |
Hello Dennis, We currently don’t have functionality that will allow you to accept credit cards by swiping the card. As of now, the best way to do this would be to register them from the front end and allow them to enter their credit card information. This can be done on a tablet. It might be more difficult if it is done on a smartphone, unless the website is mobile responsive. Also, we are developing an iPad app, but I do not have an idea of an ETA. |

Jonathan, If we were going to invest in some tablets right now to run this process, would you then suggest an ipad? Are you simultaneously developing an android app or will that come later? I understand you don’t have an idea of an ETA, but are we talking 1 year or more, or more like a few months? Only reason I ask is because we are going to invest in equipment but I will hold off if it’s going to be 1 year or more on some kind of check in/sign up app. Thanks. Justin |
Dennis, I am not sure if we are going to develop an Android app. I do not have any idea of an ETA. |

We may be able to add the functionality to pay using the iPad, but it may be a while, unless we have enough interest or sponsorship money. |

How much interest? I can’t believe people who are having events wouldn’t want to run the day of sales through the same system on a mobile device or pad? Seems intuitive to me. What kind of sponsorship money are we talking about? Who owns the code when you sponsor a feature? If EE owns the code, does that mean the programming is done at a discounted rate since they will eventually reap all the financial benefits from the feature? Seth, thanks again for all your help. |

Seth, Any word on this? This is functionality that would really help and I’d be interested in sponsoring, but I have no idea what that looks like. Thanks. Justin |
Actually, it looks like we are adding this functionality. I talked to the developers and they are saying that it should be easier to add than we first thought. Just not sure if it will be in the initial release. |

Seth. I love you. That’s brilliant. You are the best. Any idea on a timeline for this. I don’t need a date or anything. Are we looking at like 1 year or more like 1 month? This functionality is KEY for us as we do a lot of our sales the day of the event. Thanks again. Merry Christmas Justin |
Hopefully in the next two to three months. |

Perfect. Thank you for the general idea. We will make due until then. Justin |
