every time I load the event edit (edit post) screen it takes 10-15 seconds to load in firefox and in Edge it took 35 seconds. there is a javascript timeout and it says its the datepicker’s fault. Help! I am very stuck here. thank you in advance for help

May I ask how exactly it’s saying it’s the date picker’s fault? Have you tried ruling out a plugin or theme conflict?
You can rule out a potential theme or plugin conflict by following these steps:
1) A theme conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily switching to the default WordPress theme, then test. The theme test drive plugin allows for testing another theme without actually changing your site’s theme.
2) A plugin conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily deactivating any other installed WordPress plugins. Then you reactivate them one by one, while testing the error condition between each reactivation.

in firefox when there is a script timeout it pops up a box. unfortunately I set the dont show this again and dont know how to get it back!
this is in the admin area, not the front end area so I didnt think that a theme applied here.

It’s actually a fairly common thing to see a theme add scripts to the admin, because theme’s have functionality like options in the admin.

No and it may not be the cause of the issue, but instead a symptom. That’s why it’s important to check for a plugin conflict first.
