when I enter a new event and select the correct date… it posts the wrong date in the event…

The actual date selected is March 7 from 7:00 am to 9:00 am

Hi there,
I can’t see that event, has it been removed? Or maybe published privately?
Generally if the dates are displayed wrong it is down to another plugin (or possibly even the theme) calling date_default_time_set() which causes problems with dates within WordPress (and therefor EE) take a look here:

If you test with one EE active and create a new test event does the same happen then?
