We collect our customer’s date of birth during the registration process. We ask them type it in like this mm-dd-yyyy. This information is then mapped into Infusionsoft. We have been getting some dates showing up as 12/31/1999 instead of the actual date the customer entered. I believe it’s happening when dates are entered like this 3-3-2013 instead of 03-03-2013, but I’m not really sure. Any ideas on how to correct this issue? Is there a better format for the customer to enter the dates? Does this have anything to do with how we have the WordPress settings set up? Thanks much for your help!!

Hi Lara,

Have you tried running a sample registration to confirm this behavior?

I believe it’s happening when dates are entered like this 3-3-2013 instead of 03-03-2013, but I’m not really sure.

No I haven’t done that. I’ll start tracking it closer as I see that date error showing up and try to figure out what’s happening. Is there a better way for us to collect the dates?

Hi Lara,

I can recommend that you can check with the developer who set up the mapping of the date field and see if they can add some validation to the form that collects the information. That way if someone types in an invalid date (ie. 13/05/1993) or it doesn’t match the required format it will ask them to try inputting the date again.
