So I have over 600 registrations in my system and my website is already really big… is there a way to clear old stuff without going item by item or page by page and selecting all and move to trash? Cause there are 30 pages of info… I just want to free up space on my website so it doesn’t get bogged down. These events and registration are already downloaded and I downloaded a contact list of all contacts.

Hi there,

You can use the Event Espresso > Maintenance page in the admin to “Reset Event Espresso Data.” This will reset data for Event Espresso 4, and for all active add-ons. Inactive add-ons will not be affected. Your Event Espresso data will return to its default settings. The rest of your website will be unaffected.

Does that help?

Hey Seth… I’m concerned when you say Default… I want to leave everything the same just clear out old registrations… I think what Reset does is take Esspresso back to default and I have a lot of custom changes to it… am I wrong? Do you know a way to just bulk delete registrations?

Hi there,

Just to note that whilst 600 registrations may feel like a lot, it’s actually not. MySQL (or whichever branch your server may be using) was designed to handle millions of rows, so 600 registrations isn’t going to cause you problems.

I think what Reset does is take Esspresso back to default and I have a lot of custom changes to it… am I wrong?

No, you are not wrong.

Resetting Event Espresso takes it back to how it was when you first installed it. Some settings are saved (such as organization settings) but a lot of others will be reset. If you have customizations throughout Event Espresso I don’t recommend using this feature unless you want them to be reverted.

Do you know a way to just bulk delete registrations?

Currently, we don’t have a method to do this, you need to manually remove any payments within the transactions linked to these registrations first and then they can be removed.

We do have a ‘cascade’ deletion feature on our roadmap which will reduce the amount of work involved for this but it is not currently ready for release.
