I recently upgraded from EE3 to EE4. In EE3 the dashboard event listing page only showed upcoming events as the default. In my install of EE4 all events are showing up including expired and those years past their date. How can I only see the upcoming dates as a default and not every event ever listed in a random order without having to use filters.

Hi there,

Josh previously created a snippet to set the upcoming filter by default here:

You can add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here:

Can I not just add the snippet to my child theme functions.php?

That might work. Please note that if you change your theme you’ll lose that function. Also, we’ve found that theme files load later in the request after plugin files load. So if you add a PHP code snippet to a child theme’s functions.php file and it doesn’t do anything, it may because the code loaded too late in the request.

Thank you, It does seem to be working in my child functions.php. If that changes I’ll try the custom plugin method. thanks for the options and thanks for the support.
