I have an application where I am collecting Sports Player Registrations with Event Espresso. Things are working Great! We went live on Saturday with zero bugs or incidents. Thank you EE.

My Registration Website: http://litchfieldlacrosse.org

I have combed thru all the EE TEMPLATE files changing the HTML display word of “Attendee” to “Player” and or “Parent/Guardian” (the purchaser). Unfortunately there are two places where I can not find an HTML line to change. I included pictures below.

QUESTION 1) When the customer uses the CART checkout to purchase multiple registrations. The Multiple Quantity pulldown table has the text “You can register a multiple of X attendees for this event,” where can I find this line of text to modify it?

Question 2) In the multi purchase CART when “Payment Overview” displays, the table displays the word “Attendee:” Where can I find this to change it to “Parent or Guardian?”

See example pictures. Thank you in advance!

Hi,

The best way to change the text so you don’t have to hunt through the template files is by translating them (sounds weird I know), there are instructions here https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/

If you still want/need to modify the templates direct:

1) event-espresso/includes/functions/cart.php approx line 1203

2) I am honestly unsure where that is! I have been through the language and template files and cannot find it. I will see if one of the dev’s knows more about it.

Thank you! You put me on the right track looking into the Includes. So I was able to find the second one under PROCESS-REGISTRATIONS/add-attendees-to-db.php

LAST QUESTION, perhaps you already have a DOCUMENT that I was not able to find… Where can I edit the EVENT OVERVIEW list on the Admin Dashboard? I want to add my own columns because start time is not important, I would prefer to have a different field of info show in that column.

Thanks again!

thread jack: I’m in Hollis, we should meet up some time and compare notes on EE and WP.

Hi Orest,

Glad you found it! I must of looked at every file 3 times!

Regarding the Event Overview columns, on the far right is a button that can show hide columns – http://d.pr/i/nKnG.

If you need to actually look at the file it is event-espresso/includes/event-management/event-list.php BUT this is a core file and it is not recommended to change. Any modifications will have to be redone everytime the plugin is updated.

As with everything WordPress, try not to hack at core 🙂

I certainly don’t like doing core hacks… I do use the COLUMN FILTERS all the time but I don’t like that those are not STICKY. If I setup to look at Attendees and arrange that filter to show what I am looking for, then ext to Event Overview to look at attendees for another event, I need to reset the column filter again. This makes it tedious.

Although for this application I wanted to add a few columns to the attendee display that are not from your standard list of questions. The good news is that if an update overwrites my hack, EE keeps working, the administrator just looses the ability to see the custom columns. So he will complain and I will need to drop my modified PHP file over top…

Hijacker Jon, I am on the south side of the new airport exit. Email me, I’ll be glad to meet you. I have two separate non-profit websites running EE. The other one sells traditional educational courses. My Email: registration-services(At)LitchfieldLacrosse.org
