Is it possible to customize payment methods per event, or event category, or even an event ticket price? i.e only bank transfers for events with tickets higher than 40€, or only bank transfers for the XYZ event

Hi there,

You can do some of the above with the Payment methods pro add-on in that it allows you to set specific payment methods to be active on specific events.

You can’t do conditional logic during the registration meaning you can’t do “only bank transfers for events with tickets higher than 40€” unless you especially set that event to only allow the bank payment method and all tickets then use that payment method.

Is this true?

Payment Methods Pro addon was deactivated because Multi Event Registration was also active, and the two are incompatible.

Yes.

The PMP add-on allows you to set payment methods per event.

With the multi event registration add-on you can add multiple events to the cart. So if Event A is set to use say Stipe payment method 1 and Event B set to use Stipe payment method 2….. what happens when they are both added to the cart?

So, yes, its true. You can not use both of those add-ons together.

Yes, you are right that if different payment methods apply to different events, then we have a problem in the cart. Unless the admin could set a priority rule among the methods that overrides all other, i.e. if credit card is selected then all others are overriden. Another way would be to add all payments methods selected for any event to the cart.

It’s a pity having to deactivate Multievent registration because of this.

Whilst I like the idea of assigning priorities, that doesn’t solve the problem I mentioned about.

Event A has Stripe Payment Method 1 (Linked to Stripe account 1)
Event B has Stripe Payment Method 2 (Linked to Stripe account 2)

Both are added to the cart, which Stripe payment method (and therefore Stripe account) receives the funds?

Allowing users to set priorities on payment methods is all well and good, but not with situations as above, now you have payments that were intended for one Stripe account going to another.

Another way would be to add all payments methods selected for any event to the cart.

Again that wouldn’t work for the above, now it’s up to the user which of the 2 Stripe accounts your funds go to which I don’t think is a good thing.

In short, this isn’t a simple problem to solve without careful consideration/planning to cover all of the use cases our uses have.

It’s a pity having to deactivate Multievent registration because of this.

I agree but there is a fair bit more to this problem than it first seems, so as it stands you can’t use both of those add-ons together.
