Hi there
Is there a way to export event-details to XLS? The CSV-file doesn’t serve any good for our event administrators, as there are no columns and the information isn’t displayed for overview-purposes… (I’m not shure if that’s proper english btw :))
I already saw, that I can customize the data that is being exported when adding a few lines to functions.php – but I still am struggling with the fact that the CSV isn’t really readable…
I’m thankful for any advice!

Hey there,
CSV is a file format that can be viewed using Excel, Google Docs, Open Office, etc.
For Excel 2013:
- Open Blank Workbook.
- Go to DATA tab.
- Click button From Text in the General External Data section.
- Select your CSV file.
- Follow the Text Import Wizard. (in step 2, select the delimiter of your text)

Thanks for your answer – I’m aware of those possibilities… the problem is, that our event admins aren’t… We have event admins who just want to click and download a viewable file with no additional step to take…
Do you see my point? Is there a way to customize the export-function in terms of this?

Hi Philip,
The system cannot be changed to create an XLS file. We have tested the Registration CSV system and it opens in Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, and Zoho Sheets.
If they are having a display issue, then I would try to find out what is causing that and then share some steps on how their workflow can be adjusted so they can view the file correctly.
