Customising Signup Conformation Page

I’m working on a training event site for a client and they have requested that the events be made free to sign up to for the moment. But the don’t want the users to actually be signing up to the events, instead it’s going to be a “register your interest” process.

Is there any way to completely change the conformation page for the sign up to the events? Or maybe have a Campaign Monitor (email subscription) for each event? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tom,

Yes you can change the confirmation page (confirmation_display.php) completely, by copying it to uploads/espresso/templates and modifying as needed.

You can also add the users to Mailchimp via the Mailchimp add on if that is of any use to you.

Hi Dean,

Thanks for the feedback. Seem to be getting closer to a solution ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been going through the template files in wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates, and been making a few successful changes to the copy. But there are a few things that I can’t seem to change yet.

For example the “Attention!” alert for the payment method by check; the copy isn’t anywhere in the template files. Is this something that is supposed to be changed elsewhere in the plugin?

Hello Tom,

To edit that text you will you will need to edit the check_payment_vars.php file in the plugins/event-espresso/gateways/check directory.

Right ๐Ÿ™‚

So the copy for some of the alerts is in the gateways folder. In this case the gateways/check/check_payment_vars.php

But I get the impression that it’s not recommended to make changes here as they might be over written whenever I update?

Didn’t see your post there Jonathan.

Cheers : )

Tom,

The best way to accomplish this is to edit the file using poedit and upload the new po + mo files into /languages. However, this will get overwritten on an update, so you will need to re-upload your changes after each update. We are working on this in an update to make it easier to accomplish.
