Customise Event Status Options

Currently the event status options are postponed, cancelled, sold out etc.
I would like to add CLOSED.
Is this possible?

Hi JohnB,

Technically this is possible via a filter hook, but adding the status will add no additional functionality. If you’re looking for a quick way to close registration, you can set the “Display Ticket Selector” option to No then save the event.

Thank you Josh.
In many instances not all tickets are sold for an event and although for marketing purposes it can look good to show “sold out” this is often not a reflection of the true status.

For example, I offer “early bird” tickets that close before the full price tickets do. I would like to see them show as “closed” once the time period passes. (if all are sold then yes, sold out would be appropriate)

Similarly, If i decide to close ticket sales early I would like to mark the event ticket sales as “Closed”.

I don’t know what a filter hook is, so best I don’t start fiddling in that area.

I was hoping there was some way a different worded status could be set up that can have the same effect as “Sold Out” status for those tickets / event.

Maybe something for the future wish list.

Hi John,

If I correctly understand your last reply, then there is a feature you can use now. You go to Event Espresso > Events > Templates and set Show Expired Tickets? to Yes.
