Custom User role to bypass event payment

Hi everyone –
Tricky situation here, and I’m wondering if anyone has tried to find a solution to this. I’m in EE4.

We run 2 types of classes: Long classes (6 months or so) and short classes (4 weeks). When someone registers for a long class, I want them to be able to register for any and all short courses that they want for free. Basically – their long-class membership gets them unlimited short classes.

I’m thinking if I could make a new user role, and manually create WP accounts for the long-class people, then set EE to recognize their user role and mark the price as zero, that would be ideal.

Is there a way to do this? I’m scratching my head like crazy.

Alternatively: I could set a price option for “Long-Course Student” that was free, but I would need to have a way to have that only show up when a long-course student user is logged in.

Any ideas?
Thanks crew!

Hi Jason,

Using the EE4 User Integration Add-on you can set a minimum required capability per ticket, like this – http://take.ms/UhHXL

Then when you view the ticket selector without that cap – http://take.ms/WeyFN

Is that what your are looking for?
