We stated this topic and it was closed https://eventespresso.com/topic/custom-template-add-on-not-working/

Need to pick that back up

It does not work with just [EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW] as well. How would I know if it is a upgrade of WP or something else.

There’s a troubleshooting guide you can follow that will help rule out a plugin or theme conflict:

Checked this out and I do not have any conflicting plug in, theme or hosting companies.

When you say you checked this out, you de-activated all non-EE plugins and switched to a default theme and confirm the shortcode still does not parse?

I see you are using cornerstone on the site, if you setup a new test page, and add the [EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW] shortcode NOT using cornerstone, does the shortcode work then?

Hi Tom, No I have not deactivated all the plugins, YIKES that sounds a bit daunting and I can check on that in the evening. I will also check the cornerstone hack. I was wondering if switching to EE4 would make a difference. I am also switching from WP Engine as my web hosting but I have them for over a year and still this problem is new.

That’s the only way to rule out a plugin/theme conflict.

Rather than testing it on the main site you could use something like the Duplicator plugin to create a clone of the site in a subdirectory (or event locally) and test it there. Its best practice to do it that way as the live site continues to work as normal (although not) and you can freely troubleshoot the problem opn the clone.

I will also check the cornerstone hack.

That step is just to confirm if the shortcode correctly parses outside of cornerstone (meaning its likely a conflict with CS).

I am also switching from WP Engine as my web hosting but I have them for over a year and still this problem is new.

Its unlikely this is down to hosting, its possible to be an issue with their caching but if your logged into the site and still get the same problem it’s not that (WPEngine doesn’t cache logged in requests)

Thanks for all your time Tony,

To be honest this is too daunting of a task for me at this time, is this something that can be handled with a support token?

Sure, we can investigate further using support tokens, however, note that tokens are valid for 30mins of support time so this may take more than a single token.
