Custom Message not available for selection in Event Editor

Hello!
I have been using Event Espresso for quite a while and usually have no problem selecting a custom message for registration for different events. However, all of the sudden when I go to the “Notifications” section at the bottom of the event editor page, it will no longer let me select the custom messages I have created. “Global” is the only option. I checked on the Custom Message Templates page and all of my custom messages are still there. How do I get the option to select them back on the event editor page?

Hi there,

Edit the global template for that message type and check if the ‘Override all custom’ option is checked.

If it is, that’s your problem, simply uncheck and save, your custom templates should be available again.

thank you! that fixed it! i have no idea how that box suddenly got checked!

I think it’s a little to easy to accidentally check that box when attempting to save the template and not notice, meaning when you try to save again you do so with the checkbox checked.

I’ll create a ticket to see what we can do with that option, the problem is its been in EE for a while and people will have muscle memory when editing the templates so it may be frustrating for some if we move it, but either way, we’ll discuss this a little more internally.
