I have added an HTML email to the confirmation email section under General Settings. The HTML is an inlined styled table. I only added the table tag to this space, not the body or html tags. However, when I test send the email, it looks great except there’s a huge blank area above my table. It’s vertically anchoring the table at the bottom of the email, with this blank area on top. Is this blank area for a header that I’m unaware of? If, so how do I remove the space, since I’m using my own custom email design?

Hi Rachel,

It’s really hard to say what has caused that issue, most likely it is CSS. TO my knowledge all HTML emails run inline css styles, so I would advise you to firstly check the css you have allocated to the table.

Feel free to post it here (via pastebin or similar) and I can have a look and see if anything looks amiss.

Here’s a link to the HTML email. I did not include the body or html tags when I used this code in the General Settings email space. I had to use an outside table, because I couldn’t figure out how to include a background color otherwise. If you know of another way to achieve that, please let me know. http://calcharge.org/registration_confirmation.html

HI Rachel,

I see your issue, the table html is malformed. You have a table within a table and some of the rows and cells aren’t closed properly.

Whilst I can’t build this up for you, here are some tutorials and guidelines

http://24ways.org/2009/rock-solid-html-emails/

http://mailchimp.com/resources/html-email-templates/

http://htmlemailboilerplate.com/

HTML emails are at best annoying, and often it takes a while to get the format and structure just right, so when you do, make sure you save a backup!
