Hi, I created some new recurring events, then forgot to assign a custom email to them. When I went back to assign the custom email, I changed the first dropdown to “yes” and then chose the email in the next dropdown. I then chose the option to update for this and all future events, and updated the event. After the event is saved, I scrolled back down to the custom email section and it had switched back to “no” for the custom email. This happens on several different events. When I create a new test event, I can choose a custom email and it will be saved. But it’s just not saving for these existing events. What can I do? Thanks in advance! WordPress version: 4.1.1 |
Hi, I’m running some testing to see if I can reproduce this issue. Could you go ahead and backup your WordPress site and update to the current version of Event Espresso? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/ https://eventespresso.com/wiki/change-log/ — |

Hi, I was not able to duplicate this issue with the current release. I created a new recurring events series and saved. Then I went back to the original recurring event and changed it to use a custom email and entered a message and saved. On refreshing, I scrolled down and saw the option toggled to yes. I then selected an existing email template and saved again. Could you go ahead and update to the latest software? Also, if you are running any caching services, then please try clearing your cache through your WP-admin. Thanks — |

Hi Lorenzo, Thanks for your response and testing. I’ve done some further investigation, and it seems that the issue is not with the custom emails, but with making any change and choosing to save for “this and all upcoming events.” When I choose that option, and click Update, nothing is saved. When I choose “this event only” or “all events in this series,” it is saved fine. For now, I’m going to use the “all events in the series” option – but is there an explanation why the “this and all upcoming events” option doesn’t work? Thanks |
Hi, Was it only the email settings that did not save when using ‘This and all upcoming events’? I will do some investigating and see if I can reproduce this. Just so its clear, that option starts from the current event you are editing and saves the settings for any events after (and including) that event. So for example if you have a series of events, we’ll say Event 1 though 5. You edit Event 3 and use the ‘This and all upcoming events’ option, Event 3, 4 & 5 will be updated. |
