Hi, The tutorial fgor customization at (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/put-custom-templates/) states that we need to set “Enable default style sheet” to yes.

In my version (3.1.29.1.P) I do not see that option under Template Settings. Under “Stylesheet options” there is “Use Themeroller Style Sheets” dropdown which when turned to yes or no does not turn off the themeroller css in the header of my pages. I really just can’t figure out how to make it so I can use event_espresso_style.css. Any change I make there does not do anything for my layout.

Please help, thanks!

Also if I look at the source for the site it is pulling stylesheets from themeroller in the plugins directory.

Hi Morgan,

I am unable to log into the site. I am getting a 401 Authorization Required message, and none of the credentials you sent are working.

Can you reply to the email Garth sent you earlier advising how to access your site? Please copy support@eventespresso.com on the email.

Hi M Lou,

Can you post a link to a registration page so we can investigate further?

Hi M Lou,

The link you posted took me to a 404 page. One thing that you can try doing is go to Event Espresso>Template settings and set the option to use Themeroller to yes if not already set. Then select one of the themeroller stylesheet options, then save the options.

Sorry, didn’t realize I had set the event-registration page to Private. It’s now available. Already have the option set for Themeroller and the Sunny option. Not making a difference 🙁

Hi M Lou,

I think I see what’s going on. The custom themeroller files need to go into /wp-content/uploads/espresso/themeroller. If you go into the Event Espresso>Template settings and click the blue question mark that is next to the ThemeRoller Style selector, there will be a modal pop up box with specific instructions on how to set up custom themeroller styles. I’ll copy and paste the instructions here:

Adding Custom ThemeRoller Styles

To add your own custom ThemeRoller styles:

1) Go to the jQuery UI ThemeRoller site and design and download your custom style.

2) Unzip the downloaded file, then navigate to the “/css/” folder. Inside you will see a directory named “custom-theme” (or the name of the theme if you selected a pre-made style). If you like, rename the “my-custom-theme” directory to something memorable.

3) This step is very important. Inside the “my-custom-theme” folder, find a file named “jquery-ui-..**.custom.css”. Rename that file to “style.css”. If you do not rename this file, you will not see your custom theme in the selections.

4) Upload your desired ThemeRoller styles to the “wp-content/uploads/espresso/themeroller/” directory on your server.

5) This step is very important. Make sure there is an empty “index.php” file in the “wp-content/uploads/espresso/themeroller/” directory. This will tell Event Espresso that you want to use custom ThemeRoller CSS files.

6) IMPORTANT: Verify you have an “wp-content/uploads/espresso/themeroller/index.php” file. Also make sure your custom ThemeRoller CSS files look something like this “wp-content/uploads/espresso/themeroller/my-custom-theme/style.css”.

Thanks! That did the trick!
