We will be running a promotion with Groupon in the next few months. Groupon has provided me with a list (about 1000) codes that I would like to upload into promotions in EE4. I know that this is not a current function in EE4 but I was wondering if there was a work around or modification that I could do to make it happen? Thanks
There is a workaround, but only if the promotions are to apply to a single event and not as a code that should be ‘global’ across all/multiple events.
A little while ago I ported over the EE3 coupon import tool to be compatible with EE4, you can find it here:
Install that as a plugin on your site and go to Settings -> EE4 Voucher Import.
Setup the Promotion settings how you prefer and enter the ID number for the event the promotions apply to. The use the CSV provided and add your Promo codes to that. In the CSV the first column has either 0 or 1, promotions with a 0 will not be imported, with a 1 they will be.
Be careful when using this, it’s not official and should be considered unsupported. There are multiple tables to add a promotion to (the plugin does it for you), meaning that if you try adding 1000 codes and realise you made a mistake, you’ve just added at least 2000 rows (1000 in 2 tables) to the database that you’ll need to fix so double check but you click to import.
