CSV report displays registrant twice

Hello,

My client has been using Event Espresso for about two months now on their website. Today, he contacted me about the CSV reports for the last couple of days printing out incorrectly. Here is one example:

This is what one registration with 4 registrants looks like in the backend. (I’ve blurred some things out for personal purposes)

But when the csv report is downloaded, it is displayed like this:

So, this is making things inaccurate for my client because it makes it look like three people in that party purchased the “tour & tasting with souvenir bottle” ticket when only two people from the party did because it is displaying one registrant twice.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

I greatly appreciate it! Let me know if more information needs to be provided.

Hi Jeff,

I did some checking and testing with a similar event/ticket set up and I’m not seeing any issues with the CSV reports where one attendee gets displayed twice in the report like this. I really can’t think of what would cause this. Have any customizations been made to the CSV export via filter functions?

I think they usually try to generate one for the tickets they sold each day for their accountant to keep track of their sales on a daily basis. Could this be affecting it?

No I can’t think of any reason why a daily report would affect this. You can click on All Registrations CSV Report and then click on Registrations > Today, then click on Filtered CSV Report and you’ll have two reports to compare. Are there any differences between the two reports?

When looking at registrations for today, out of 10 total registrations, the filtered csv report shows that 4 of the tickets are “tour with tasting & souvenir bottle” and the rest are “tour with tasting”. When downloading the csv report for all registrations and just looking at these 10 for today, it shows 3 “tour with tasting & souvenir bottle” tickets purchased, which is the correct amount.

So it is looking like the filtered csv report doubled one of those like it was doing yesterday.

Does it double for you if you view this month’s registrations list, then generate a filtered CSV report from that view?

As far as I can tell, it does look like it doubled one person for the most recent party of registrants for this month.

OK thanks for checking. I’ve made a ticket and sent it to a developer so they can investigate further. The way the CSV file gets generated should be the same regardless of whether it’s a filtered report an an all events/all registrations for one event report, but the developer can verify.

Update: This was fixed and the fix was included in the 4.9.47.p release.
