CSV Download doesn't work on Chrome (2)

I have strange error with EE4. If I try to download CSV report from registrations it successfully writes that file generated, but it doesn’t start to download it. It refreshes page and that’s it.

However everything is working with Safari on my Mac. Tried Chrome on Mac and Windows but it doesn’t work.

I tried to de-activate all plugins and it didn’t help. I duplicated then all my wordpress files to another subdomain and there everything works fine. Where to find error? Difference between subdomain and maindomain is maindomain is using HTTPS and subdomain uses HTTP.

Does that trigger the error?

I enabled HTTPS on my subdomain and couldn’t download CSV report. Then disabled HTTPS and CSV reporter started working again.

So thing is, CSV report doesn’t work on HTTPS.

Can you fix that?

Hi there,

How are you enabling and disabling HTTPS?

I run multiple sites using HTTPS and can download the CSV without a problem on those, for example – http://take.ms/2Slt3

Can you send me login details to the subdomain site with HTTPS disabled so I can view the CSV request? If so you can send login details securely using:

I have enabled Let’s Encrypt Authority X3 SSL to my domain, and in WordPress settings I can put domain name either https://… or http://.

I will send login details right away.

Ok, so I spent some time looking through this and I suspect is an issue with how Chrome handles multiple connections. The connection to the CSV is being stalled/queued and then before it can resume EE removes the CSV file.

HTTPS adds a little more latency to the connections and it looks like its just enough to prevent the connection in time in this case.

I’ve created a ticket for our developers to investigate this further, however, for the time being, you’ll need to use another browser to download the CSV. Firefox and IE both work fine for me when testing your site so anything other than Chrome should work.
