Critical Pages keep resetting

We have been using EE4 on a Multisite for a year or so. It works pretty well, but often when we edit events – add tickets, modify event text etc, the Critical Pages get knocked out of whack:

Instead of Registration Checkout, Transactions, Thank you and Registration Cancelled, it sets to something like Transactions, Thank You, Registration Cancelled and Registration Cancelled – so all the pages are wrong, and registrations fail, and then we have to reset the pages – and check them on all three sites on the multisite. Once they are reset again, everything is fine until another edit is performed. In normal use for registering, the sites work fine.

Is there some way of “locking” the pages with a custom function that I could add in as a plugin on each of the subsites, which would fix the pages in place?

The other issue we occasionally have is that two of the sites use Euros as the currency and one site uses GBP, and sometimes the currency settings get disturbed too – this is fixed by just updating the “Country” page, but this doesn’t happen so often.

If we could solve the critical pages, make one selection for all time, and then have those pages locked in place, that would be wonderful.

the site is https://bodhi-college.org

thanks,

Alan

Hi Alan,

I have not seen that issue before. And so I understand the issue, the pages are breaking after you edit an event?

Do you see a dismissible about the critical pages appear towards the top of the WordPress dashboard (WP-admin)?

Are you running a current version of Event Espresso 4?

Hi Lorenzo

Yes very often after editing an event, the critical pages get disturbed, and the wrong critical pages are selected. we have to go in and change them

When the pages get disturbed there is no dismissable notification on the dashboard – you see the problem only when you look at the critical pages – and instead of green ticks there are red warnings

We are running the latest version of EE 4

Thanks for the feedback.

Could you go to the WordPress pages overview screen and search for the following?

ESPRESSO

That should return results for pages that include an Event Espresso shortcode. Are there any duplicates active and published or in the trash?

If not, then could you try temporarily deactivating all plugins except for Event Espresso 4 and its add-ons and then make some minor edits to one or two events?

Then could you go to General Settings –> Critical pages and let us know if any issues (red status) are reported?

Thanks – I have searched for pages containing ESPRESSO and there are no duplicate critical pages or versions of them in the trash.

To perform deactivate plugins and test, I will need to do this at a low traffic point of the day – we have just released several new events which are attracting traffic.

I will report back soon

Alan
