Hello

We are having an issue with a specific functionality that is on our eventespresso website. We have placed a code logic that adds 3% of the total transaction fee when a user choose to pay with AIM. Now with the latest update that stopped working. Im attaching the code sample with TODO comments in the lines that the functionality breaks.

Thanks

Hi there,

When I click on the link you provided, I receive an “AccessDenied” error message so we cannot see any code to review.

I understand how frustrating it can be when custom code stops functioning as expected.

Event Espresso is continuously updated to improve security, performance, and compatibility. Sometimes, these updates introduce changes to our codebase that can affect custom scripts or integrations. Since the custom code was developed outside of the core plugin, it may not have been updated to align with the recent changes in Event Espresso. Once we can see the code, we may be able to see what we can do to accommodate your custom changes or offer some advice about how your code can be implemented in a more reliable manner.

Here’s what I recommend:

1. Check the Update Logs: Review the latest Event Espresso release notes to see if any recent changes might have impacted your custom code.

2. Test in a Staging Environment: If possible, test your site in a staging environment to troubleshoot and isolate the issue without affecting your live website.

3.Consider Professional Assistance: If you need help updating or debugging your custom code, we recommend reaching out to the developer familiar with your custom changes. If that developer is not available, we may be available for custom services.

If there’s anything specific you’d like us to look into, such as where the custom code might be interacting with Event Espresso, please let us know. While we can’t support custom code directly, we’re happy to provide guidance and point you in the right direction.

Thank you for your understanding, and please let me know if you have any other questions.

Event Espresso allows you to add a 3% fee to the price of each ticket, which you can label as a processing fee. This fee applies per ticket, but the total will still equal 3% of the entire transaction. Additionally, upcoming U.S. legislation aims to promote transparency in ticket pricing, encouraging all-in pricing practices.

Hi there,

As part of our ongoing updates, the Authorize.net AIM integration is being deprecated and will no longer be supported. You can find the official announcement and details here: https://support.eventespresso.com/article/612-deprecated-payment-methods-2025

To continue processing payments, you’ll need to switch to a supported payment method such as Authorize.net Accept, Square, Stripe, or PayPal Commerce. These integrations are actively maintained to ensure compatibility and reliability.

If you’d like to continue using custom code to apply the processing fee instead of using a price modifier within Event Espresso’s ticket calculator features, we recommend contacting the original developer of your custom code. Alternatively, if you’d like our assistance in updating the custom code to work with a supported payment method, we can discuss that option further as a separate fee for service.

Feel free to reach out with any questions about transitioning to a new payment method—we’re here to help!
