I keep getting this issue when a client pays with their credit card from EE page. This transaction cannot be processed. Please enter a valid credit card number and type. I went to WPMailSMTP support and there is no issue on their end. They are poignant to EE. Their support says……. If you check the email logs, you can see that all of the emails have been delivered successfully (https://maskfitplus.ca/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp-mail-smtp-logs&status=1). Additionally, I verified the email deliverability by sending a test email from this site, and I can confirm that they have a perfect email deliverability score. See report: https://www.mail-tester.com/test-ff7irxgdg Regarding the error message you shared, it appears that the issue is related to the Event Espresso plugin being used on the site. Please report this issue to the Event Espresso plugin support team, and they should be able to assist you further. |

EE does not recognize the format of the credit card on the EE payment screen. After they submit their payment with their credit card info, they get a pop screen that says. “This transaction cannot be processed. Please enter a valid credit card number and type.” I tried this myself with a valid credit card and the error always occurs. Help. i need this fixed ASAP. clients can not pay online!! |

Hi there, What made/makes you think this is an issue with WPMailSMTP? Any errors from Event Espresso in the error logs? Which payment method are you using? Can you link me to an event I run registrations on? |

Tony. How can we get this fixed quickly? Can we get on the phone. We are using credit card payment with PayPal Pro method. All PayPal pro transaction we get Gateway error. CART »Paypal Pro Gateway Response. Where do I find the Error logs? |

I can’t fix this on the phone so this won’t help.
Ok, so knowing which payment method you are using helps here. I can reproduce this so digging into it now. Do you have FTP credentials? (Do not post them here on the forums)
The PayPal Pro payment method has been deprecated (along with a few others) and we recommend switching to PayPal Commerce (switching away from PayPal Pro will be a requirement by 2025). I can’t say for sure if that will fix this issue right now as we are currently investigating the cause but can say that PayPal Commerce is working correctly for me on my sites. So if you’d like to enable PayPal Commerce go to Event Espresso -> Payment Methods -> PayPal Commerce. Enable it, make sure Sandbox mode is OFF. Then click connect to PayPal to connect up your PayPal account to it, work through the instructions until connected. https://eventespresso.com/wiki/paypal-commerce-checkout-payment-gateway/ That should allow you to start taking payments in the meantime and as mentioned PayPal Pro has been deprecated so this switch will be required soon either way. But, we’ll get the current issue fixed asap. |

Awesome, I’m glad PayPal Commerce is working for you (it is also a much ‘safer’ payment method for you in terms of PCI compliance). We’ve found the cause of the issue with PayPal Pro and will be pushing a fix for it, however, even once fixed I still recommend you use PayPal Commerce as you’ve now made the switch over that will be required to do soon anyway. No point switching back to pro to switch back to commerce again 🙂 Just to note, within your PayPal account you likely have the Website Payments Pro service enabled (it’s required for PayPal Pro) and pay a monthly fee to PayPal for that, you don’t need that service with PayPal Commerce. |

Side note – we’ve just pushed an update out for EE (v5.0.29.p) which should fix PayPal Pro. |
