Hey there…so my client has weekly/monthly recurring events that do not require registration and are free. I’ve created some of these but even if I select “Display registration form? = No” and set the reg start and end dates to nothing I’m getting this error:
We are sorry but registration for this event is now closed.
Please contact us if you would like to know if spaces are still available.
I would say that 98% of the events my client will be creating will be for these types of events where no registration is required. I’m questioning if using the Event Espresso calendar is the right way to go forward with their events in terms of using it to display a simple calendar of events? Obviously, keeping Event Espresso for those events where they WILL have registration, ticket sales, etc.
Is there a better way to use the calendar in such a way?
Hey Dean, thanks for your quick reply. It still appears that no matter what kind of event I create, I still have to set registration parameters even if I do not wish to have any kind of registration at all?
Well you will need to set the registration dates initially though these can be deleted out. However with Recurring events it forces the dates back in due to the way it is set up.
SO its either create the events one at a time or hide the dates with jQuery/CSS
Having the event as ongoing and with reg form turned off, basically turns into a an advert for the event rather than the registration.
