Creating multiple price tickets using add-on

I have found this help page but don’t know where to use the shortcode mentioned about half way down.

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-sell-multiple-ticket-types-simultaneously/

“n order to make sure that the customer has access to the extra tickets, we need to turn off the registration form on the event page, and add an Add to Cart link, so that the user uses the Multiple Event Registration functionality.

event optionsSo, on the right where it says Display registration form?, set it to No.

Ok, one more thing here, we need to add that link, otherwise the registration page wont lead anywhere and it could cause confusion and potential lost sales.

We will use the [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK] shortcode, but it needs to be tweaked a little to make it look good, so we will use this version:

[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK anchor=”Register for this Event” direct_to_cart=1 moving_to_cart=”Redirecting to cart…”]

What this does is to change the default link text to “Register for this event” and on click sends the user to the shopping cart. If you just want to change the link text but not redirect the customer, then use this [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK anchor=”Register for this Event”]”

Additionally, we have 2 prices for 3 of our events but they are changed around at will; sometimes Adult first, then Child, then the other way round. Ideally I wouldn’t show either at this point, but the option to remove pricing isn’t working.

I am using EE Version 3.1.37.6.P and WP 4.3.1

Hi there Madalyn,

The shopping cart option is available with the multiple event registration add-on:

https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-multiple/

Once that add-on is installed and activated, then the shortcode can be added to the event description area in the event editor.

I will work on this, as I do already have the add on.

However, can you please confirm how to make the ticket prices “stick” with the most expensive first? All 4 of these shows should have the Adult £16 ticket price shown first. http://www.w11opera.org/this-year/tickets/ but they sometimes show the child price.

Thanks

The prices should show the last price entered into the event, but appears your are not.

Would a range be better, for example £12-16?

If so you can go to Event Espresso -> Template Settings.

There you will find ‘Display prices in the event list as’ – http://take.ms/u1eN1

You can set price range, list or none within that option.

Will that work?
