We are currently using EE3 for one of our sites and EE4 for another. We would like to achieve the following for the EE3 website:
I would like to add student pricing to some courses and the ability to register for the lower student price.
For the EE4 website we would like to achieve the following:
For safety courses for kids, we would like the ability for clients to register at a discounted rate based on a code or other means that has been provided. Can you please tell me how we can do this for both sites? Thank you.
Please advise on how we could accomplish this.

EE3 has promotional codes which can be used to discount the event cost. https://eventespresso.com/wiki/promotional-codes/
EE4 does not yet have this but it is something we are working on as we speak, though there is currently no estimate on a release date for it.

When will the EE4 promotional code plugin be finished? Is there any way this can be accomplished?

Is there a way we could ad a field to the registration form asking for a Discount code, if the code is present can we hook into the EE4 sub-total calculation and deduct the a specified amount? We would also need the transaction receipts to include the amount that was deducted for tax purposes.

Hi, we do not have a release date for the promotions system but it is under development and is being tested internally. Once it is ready, then we’ll announce it on our blog.
Pricing information is loaded from the database and can’t currently be edited through the front end.
The promotions system will also handle discounts via a promotion / discount code.
