Country/State dropdown field in Registration Form bug on Safari

We had to add Country/State dropdowns to our event registration form recently and have discovered that in Safari, the State/Province field just shows the Country options, even after the Country has been selected. They are not corresponding.

This doesn’t happen in Chrome.
Do you have any ideas about what’s going on?
