It took me a long time to translate all the messengers of EE4 into Dutch language. Now I want to know if there is an easy way to copy this by sql or if I have to open all the various parts and variations every time again. This is very time consuming. |

Or do I have to make them custom? |

Hi Wim, Did you translate them via the language files? If so you could simply copy those language files into the other install. |
Is the word Hello on the language files? To my opinion it is all just Plain text. |
|
First I tried it with the language files. Most sentances on screen are translated correctly, but not the messengers. They don’t change when I translate them into Dutch. I am talking about all emails for instance. Subject is unchanged and all the sentences are still in English. That is why I had to translate them all manually. |

I saw I have to do a reset of the template first, but f.i. the word Hello, is never translated. Is this an error? |
|
Hi Wim, the messages along with the questions and question groups in Event Espresso are not translated. Where did you see that a reset was needed? I don’t recommend resetting any message types as this will remove any change that you have already made. — |

If I do not reset them than the sentences that I translate afterwards in poedit are not changed in the messengers. By the way, the starting sentence “Hello,” is translatable in poedit, but there seems to be an error. It is not translated in the messengers. Just like the complete messenger ticket notice. |

Hi, The full string for that location is ‘Hello, %s’, is that the string you have translated? |
|
Yes, I have translated it and it does nothing. |
|
Hi Wim, I did a little digging into this and found there are actually 2 strings: ‘Hello, %s’ & ‘Hello, %s:’ ‘Hello, %s’ is actually only used within the Registration Cancelled message. ‘Hello, %s:’ is used in all the other message templates. Which language files are you using? Are you translating using PO/MO files or a get_text filter? Edit – I re-read your previous replies and it is clear you are using POEdit, and therefore must be using PO/MO files. Have you translated both of those strings above?
