On our site we make heavy use of both EE and Content Views Pro (CVP, for creating overview and archive pages). Unfortunately, the compatibility between the two is rather limited. I’d like to create CVP views including some EE data, most importantly the Event Date and secondly the Event Category and Venue City. I contacted the CVP developer and he gave the following reaction:
“Event Espresso used its own table to store event information. So CVP can’t help. For other event plugins, they stored event data as custom field, which you can select & show easily by CVP.”
Indeed, with other plugins on our site I have no issue to retrieve the custom data fields into CVP. So, is there a way to copy selected EE data to custom fields? I have found plenty of support posts how to add custom fields to EE, but I need to extract them. How can I do that?

Hi Joost,
What your looking to do will require custom development by a developer, either to pull the details within CVP for your so you can use them or to copy the details to the EE post custom meta details.
Event Date and secondly the Event Category and Venue City
Whilst not ideal, if its only these 3 pieces of information you need you could simple manually add those as custom fields to the event post when creating the event.
You’ll need to remember to update the custom meta values if you change them within the ‘standard’ EE sections but it may allow you to do what you need.
If not you’ll need the help a developer to create a custom integration as mentioned above, if you are not working with one currently we have some familiar with Event Espresso here:
