Convert Event Times into Hours

I am using EE as a volunteer signup platform. I need to translate event times into total event hours. Meaning, if I volunteer for a a shift from 1:00 – 4:00 it would register as 3 hours on the backend. This is also something that I would need to export in the spreadsheet.

Do I have any options for this? Is there a custom script that EE developers could help me with?

Hi,

There isn’t anything built in, you would definitely need something custom coded.

If you are using EE3, then you could use the Event Meta boxes to add the time in hours for the event and write a plugin to display or export the data from the database.

EE4 might be a little easier in that it uses standard post meta fields, so while you would still need to write something custom, you can leverage some WordPress functions to assist.
