Contextual Help tab on Messages screen gives 404

Hoi support,

When I click on the WordPress contextual Help tab on:

Event Espresso > Messages > Custom Message Templates page

it links to: mydomain.nl/wp-admin/[PAYMENT_URL] which gives an 404.

After clicking on the Help tab the contextual Help flashes for a very short moment after which it redirects to mydomain.nl/wp-admin/[PAYMENT_URL] resulting in an 404.

How can I, or you :-), fix this issue?

Marco

Hello Marco,

Thank you for contacting us.

Can you please confirm if the issue is happening on that particular page only or any other page?

Also, can you please let me know if you are using the latest version of the plugin (v4.10.29.p).

Looking forward to helping you.

Thank you.

Hi Sam,

Yes, I’m using v4.10.29.p (and PHP 7.4.28).

The issue only occurs on the edit message template pages (both global templates as custom templates) like:

wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_messages&action=edit_message_template&id=16&context=attendee&edit_message_template_nonce=8978d7436e&return=custom_mtps

And:

wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_messages&action=edit_message_template&id=1&context=primary_attendee&edit_message_template_nonce=8978d7436e&return=global_mtps

And:

wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_messages&action=edit_message_template&id=2&context=primary_attendee&edit_message_template_nonce=8978d7436e&return=global_mtps

And:

wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_messages&action=edit_message_template&id=5&context=primary_attendee&edit_message_template_nonce=8978d7436e&return=global_mtps

On other EE pages like wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_events or wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_registrations the Help tab works as expected.

Hello Marco,

Can you let me know where you are clicking, please?

If you can include a screenshot that will help:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots

I’ve tested what I think you are doing on my installation and cannot reproduce the error so it could be due to a conflict.

Do you have access to the servers error logs? If so take a look for any errors from Event Espresso around the same time you load the page.

If not, you can enable error logging using the snippet here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#wpdebug

Then view the page again and the error should be logged to a location we can then view so if you post up after that has been added we can take a look.

Thank you.
