Conflict with Event Espresso and Events Manager

I have the Events Manager plugin on my website, with the plan to use Events Manager for my existing events, and new events on Events Espresso.

I just installed Event Espresso 4, and now none of the existing events on Events Manager are accessible! I deactivated and removed the EE4 plugins, but that still did not restore my Events Manager events…which are currently live.

How can I fix any conflict between Events Manger and Event Espresso? Or at least get my old events back?

I did notice that both programs use the same slug /events/ … I’m not sure if that is the problem?

Here is a sample event from Events Manager https://www.torat-el.org/events/virtual-israeli-food-tour/

Thank you for your urgent attention!

Howard

Hi Howard,

The conflict will be due to the fact that both Event Espresso and Event Manager both use the same slug as mentioned.

To fix it without Event Espresso active you need to flush your permalinks, go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks.

Don’t change anything and just hit save.

Do your Event Manager events now load?

To fix the conflict, activate Event Espresso.

Go to Dashboard -> Event Espresso -> Events -> Templates (tab).

There you’ll see the ‘Event Slug’ option.

Change that to something other than ‘events’ (you can use anything other than ‘event’ but note that the slug is where people will go to see your EE events).

Flush your permalinks again using the method I mentioned above and confirm that both event manager’s events load on /events/ and that EE’s events load on whatever slug you used above.
