Hi everbody,
Reading in forum i see many people getting no confirmations email… well, I have the opposite problem!
When someone registers and pays for an event, he gets unlimited confirmations email in loop, about one per minute! And the same problem with the notifications to the admin. This happens both in Sand Box and in active PayPal methods. Only if I delete the attendee, it stops.
Can you help me fixing it, please?
Thank you!

Hi Jacopo,

This might be the IPN from PayPal having trouble reaching your site, so it tries to send another one, then repeats and each time it fires the email script.

Can you post a link to an event so I can run a test registration?

Hi Jacopo,

I checked on this and ran a test registration and saw that the PayPal payment method was set to use sandbox mode. You can uncheck the sandbox option in Event Espresso>Payment settings>PayPal settings so that the PayPal IPN will work as expected.

Hi Josh, as I wrote in the first message “This happens both in Sand Box and in active PayPal methods.”

Hi Jacopo,

When I checked, the sandbox method looked like it was using a non-sandbox PayPal address.

Can you check the IPN log in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs to see if the PayPal IPN is reaching your site? Normally there will be one log entry for each payment made with no errors.

HI Josh,
It was my fault, I didn’t enable the IPN on my PayPal account. What an airhead!
Cheers.

And also I trashed the Transactions page, while this is needed to let the IPN work properly.
The problem seems to be resolved now.
Best wishes
