Confirmation email admin and attendees issue

We have noticed that people have been able to register for events and not email get generated to the admin for the attendee. It only happens when the attendee submits there registration but does not confirm the registartion on the next page. When this happens the attendee gets added to the event roster but there is not admin or attendee email that gets generated. We use the admin email as an application so when we do not get the email we do not act on the registartion. I would think the admin email should be generated on the submit button rather than the confirm registration button.

Any ideas?

Jeff

Hello Jeff,

Interesting point. This could be a situation where you are losing people, and you could be following them up.

I will raise it with the devs to see if we can get something implemented on it

Good afternoon,

Wondering if there was any response from the developers. This has come up again as we just found 6 people that registered for events and we did not get an email.

Thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I have raised this ticket again, in case the previous was overlooked for any reason.

Thank you Dean, it is a great registration system however it is not good
when we find people in the system and did not get their email. In 10
months of using the system we have had 187 events with over 2500
attendees we rely on it a lot.

Hi Jeff,

In the current version, the email doesn’t fire until the registration is confirmed via the confirmation page.
In the .28 update that is still under development we are working on an option to remove the confirmation page entirely, which will move the email to be sent on registration form submission (if it’s set to send before payment is made).

If you’re getting quite a few registrations where they’re in the database, but no emails fired, some of these may be related to delivery problems on the mail server end. We were experiencing this with transactional email on our site and have recently switched from the hosted mail server to use Postmark. We’ve noticed a big improvement, and other customers that have set this up have too.

I’d highly recommend looking into setting up a Postmark account (they have an official WordPress plugin in the wordpress.org repository that works well with Event Espresso) to ensure that emails get delivered.
