How can I create a ‘ticket’ that is no cost if a certain criteria is met. Example: Registrant is a paid member of the organization, therefore the event registration is free. If they enter their membership number, there registration cost is $0.

You can create two ticket, one is default and the other one has

If ticket is already created, you can edit the ticket and modify this setting
Ticket Capability Requirement

Rio. Thanks for your reply, but there is no setting for Ticket Capability Requirement. Also, in the edit ticket area, there is not a section for WP Users.

Thanks again.

Hi there,

Setting a capability on the tickets is a part of the WP User integration add-on:

https://eventespresso.com/product/eea-wp-user-integration/

That allows you to set specific capabilities required on a ticket, which would mean your users would need to log into an account which has the capability set on it to purchase the ticket.

Do you require login for users currently?

Registrant is a paid member of the organization, therefore the event registration is free. If they enter their membership number, there registration cost is $0.

Entering a value into the registration form to then have the ticket be free is not something we currently have available within EE. The closest to that would be using promotion codes, but you would need to create the promotion codes first and give those to the users to enter at checkout so I’m not sure if that would work for you.

Registrant is a paid member of the organization, and that has nothing to do with the registration website. The attendees are not users on the website, and are not required to login to the site to purchase registration.

Thanks

Then the WP User integration will not work for your use case here.

There isn’t anything built into Event Espresso core that will allow for this set up, the closest I can think of is using the Promotions add-on as mentioned above:

https://eventespresso.com/product/eea-promotions/

But… for that to work you will need to generate a bunch of promotion codes and somehow send those to the organization members for them to use.
