So for this website I had previously handled company pay buy turning on group payments. This meant that each company was responsible for purchasing as many tickets as they needed for any given event. Then each company would have the option to choose either the “Pay By Check” or “Pay Now” option. This meant that ticket distribution for each attendee and invoicing for the company would be handled by the plugin.
The client I’m working with does not like this solution.
Instead they would actually like each individual member of the site to have the option to “Choose Company Pay” during event registration. Then, an admin would need to view the attendees for each event, identify which attendees chose company pay, and then generate an invoice for that company.
Any suggestions on how to implement it “their way” would be appreciated.

Hi,
Well, one way would be to use the Invoice or similar offline payment so the user finalises the registration and have the Pre Approval setting turned on (General Settings and the individual event), that way the users registration isnt formal until the admin reviews it and selects approve.
Problem with this is if they have more than one payment option, such as PayPal and Invoice/Company Pay, then they would still be marked for approval, so it will become a lot of work for the admin.
Other than that all I could suggest would be a custom gateway, one that perhaps sets the user as pre-approval if they select the custom gateway.

So I decided to go the custom gateway route. I was able to duplicate the “Invoice” gateway and create a “Company” gateway under uploads/espresso/gateway.
My intention is to modify the PDF template for the Company gateway so that it bills whichever company a user is associated with. Whenever I test this I am able to accept the company pay option and add the user to the attendee list.
The problem I’m having is with the PDF. For some reason my custom pdf is not overriding the PDF from the core files.

Hi,
That’s a tough one as the invoice is used in various places in the plugin. I would suggest contacting one of our recommended developers,a s this level of customisation is outside the remit of support.
