Dear Josh,

See https://eventespresso.com/topic/registration-approved-message-shows-personal-e-mail-address/#post-212863.
Unfortunately, the issue remains. Clients see the “Connect with this event” and the footer section in the registration approved e-mail message.
In both sections, the e-mail code, both for displaying as the actual link, are: [CO_EMAIL]
Nevertheless, the Connect with this event section still shows the personal e-mail address, while the footer shows the role based e-mail address.
I checked the template settings, but all messages are set to make use of the custom template.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Best,
Luc

Hi Luc,

We can help you troubleshoot this but I have a few follow up questions.

Could you share a screenshot of the messages editor with the registration approved message type loaded?

Here is how you can share a screenshot with us:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots

Was there a prior user account that was used to create the event but then the event was transferred to another author?

Next, are there any custom templates in use for the registration approved message type?

Lorenzo

Dear Lorenzo,

I found the cause of the “wrong” address being displayed: although at the event level a custom message template is selected, the system uses the regular template.
I checked this by some textual changes in the regular template, which then appear in a message sent, instead of the custom message selected at the event level.

Hope this gives you some clue as to how to trace the origin of this behavior?

Best,
Luc

Luc,

although at the event level a custom message template is selected, the system uses the regular template.

Is the Multi Event Registration add-on activated?

Dear Josh,
No, the multi event registration add-on is not installed.

Hmm strange.

This may seem like a strange question but how were these messages created?

Did you create them from within Event Espresso -> Messages or from within the event notifications area?

I’ve tested both and can not reproduce this so just trying to narrow it down some.

Could I take a look at your setup? If so you can send temporary login details using this form:

Dear Tony,
Messages were created from the event notifications area.
Of course you can take a look at the setup. I submitted the credentials.

Have you removed all details from the Event Admin contexts?

Is that because you do not want any message to send to the event admin?

Dear Tony,
No, that happened with some update, until now however I didn’t find time to search for a way to get the details backs. The registrant’s section is filled.

I’ve spent some time trying to reproduce this but so far have been unable to.

Based on this:

Have you removed all details from the Event Admin contexts?

and this:

No, that happened with some update, until now however I didn’t find time to search for a way to get the details backs.

I suspect there is something wrong with the custom templates, I’m not sure what caused it as I can’t reproduce the problem.

If you re-create another custom registration approved template from the global template, apply your changes to to the Registrant context and set that new custom template to the event.

Now add another test registration to the event and Approve the registration, triggering the emails. Does it show the correct template?
