We would like to collect payment for a course. The course is many thousands of dollars in cost, and we first need to collect a course reservation fee of $75 for each signup. Then were wondering on options within Event Espresso for collecting’installment payments’ payment amounts. Any workable scenario suggestions appreciated.

It’s not something that is built in, but it is doable with a couple modifications. You would need to put the $75 as the ticket price, then when someone signs up, go into the admin and change the ticket price on that attendee to the full price. You would need to make the two modifications outlined here, in order to fix the payment overview screen on the thank-you page. And you would need to make a slight modification to the gateway module that you are using, ie. Paypal or Authnet, in order to get the gateway to charge the customer the amount still outstanding, instead of the full ticket price.

Hi, Thanks for this documentation. Is there a method where a user can choose the payment amount to pay toward his “ticket” balance. In other words, choose how much he wants to send us?

It would take a slight modification to the gateway module, but is definitely doable.
