Clients receiving multiple payment messages

I’ve had this problem before – I have people registering online and getting 6 – 8 messages. One person said they got a payment details message and five more that were blank. The other said he got 8 of the exact same message. Can you please tell me how to fix this?
Event Espresso – 4.9.11.p Version 4.6.1

Hi Vauna,

The first thing you should do is update your site to Event Espresso 4.9.12.p.

Then you should also check to make sure that your From and To fields in the outgoing messages have valid email addresses. The message activity table in Event Espresso > Messages will have a list that includes each email that went out, so you can check there.

Ok, I have updated EE now and checked that we do have valid emails. Help me understand why this client has 2 pages of messages. I have screen shots – how can I upload them?

You can upload a screenshot in your WordPress site, then post a link here. Now that you’re using the current version of Event Espresso, those emails may not repeat like they were before. The reason for those multiple messages may be because of a change to email headers included in WordPress 4.6. Event Espresso 4.9.12.p added better error handling to avoid message failures/resends caused by the WordPress core change.
