Hi. My clients receive an automated request to create a password, although my settings say force login for registration: no, Auto create users with registrations: yes, Default role for auto-created users: subscriber, Default registration status: pending. I have a EE4 licence. They receive about 3 or 4 emails for a simple paid registration. How can I reduce the amount of mail the clients receive for registration and payment? Thank you.

Hi there,

My clients receive an automated request to create a password, although my settings say force login for registration: no, Auto create users with registrations: yes, Default role for auto-created users: subscriber, Default registration status: pending.

That’s expected, WordPress doesn’t email passwords anymore so when EE automatically creates a new user (with your above settings) WP sends an email informing the user to create a password.

They receive about 3 or 4 emails for a simple paid registration. How can I reduce the amount of mail the clients receive for registration and payment?

Which emails would you like to remove?

You’ll find all of the email templates within Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default Message Templates

However we’ll need to know which message you want the user to receive to be able to advise further.

Thanks for your reply. I don’t want the user to receive an email request to create a password, when it is not actually needed. Which form is this, so that I can disable it? I did some research, but have not found it.

Can I ask why it is not needed?

The user will need to create a password to allow them to log into the site as you are creating WP users for them with the above settings. Otherwise they will have an account on your site but will not know the password to log into it.

This option – Auto create users with registrations: yes

Is what tells EE to create a user on your site which triggers the notification, the notifications is not from Event Espresso, its from WordPress so its not something you can disable within EE without setting the above option to No and not creating users from registrations.
