I have a developer who has helped complete a ‘lift share’ website where students can match up with other students who are going to a particular university open day.

I want to ask the developer if he can link this lift share website with my event/ticketing website. Will he be able to do this and how can he do it?

In my lift share site users complete a BuddyPress profile field with their Open day selection. I would like that when they click that field, say Aberdeen Open Day, their name and email is automatically passed into the registration for that event which I have created without them having to enter their details again.

Is this possible? What would my developer have to do link the two together?

Many thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike,

I’m sure it’s possible, a good amount of work, but possible. This sounds like a great use of the Event Espresso API: https://eventespresso.com/2016/01/rest-api-now-in-ee4-core/

Hi Garth,

It is great news about the REST API.

Can you give any indication at all when the API will have WRITE/POST capabilities available?

A week? A month? A year? When?

Many thanks, Mike.

The write endpoints will come over time as we create and release new endpoints. Do you know which endpoints you’re looking for? I think we merged the scanning and check-in endpoints into the core plugin the last few days.

I would expect that most of the write end points will be available in the next 60-90 days (roughly).

We are looking for registration endpoints.

The write registrations endpoints might take some more time.
