Hi,
We’ve been using Event Espresso for theatre class registrations and audition sign-ups at our youth theatre in St. Paul for about six months now, and we’re loving it. Since we have performances at our theatre as well, we’re interested in using EE for selling those tickets as well, and we have a number of questions in that regard.

  1. We currently are using Multiple Event Registration for the Classes, and it works great. If we’re going to add ticketing, can we direct ticket purchases to a different cart page? Our class registration cart header and navigation links are relevant to the classes, but I’d prefer ticket purchases to use a different header.

  2. With Group Registration, and multiple ticket price options, it appears that each ticket price requires Attendee information–even if the option for “No Additional Info Required” is chosen. It seems odd that a patron wishing to purchase 2 adult tickets and 2 child-price tickets would have to enter two names (or one name twice). Is it possible to bypass that requirement?

  3. In trying out “Recurring Events” I have come across options that will put tickets on sale and take them off sale automatically based on the dates of the events. Very nice. Is it possible to set a single “On Sale” date, and have the off-sale date based on the date of the event? For instance, can I put an entire run of a show On Sale at the same time, but have the tickets go off sale at a set time before the performance, without editing the On Sale date manually for each performance?

Our site is http://www.steppingstonetheatre.org/ We are using WP 3.5.1 and EE 3.1.30.7P, with all plug-ins current.

Thank you for your help.

  1. Event Espresso only offers one registration page. I’d recommend using javascript or CSS to try and switch out the header image based on the name or ID of the event, rather than try to create a second registration page.

  2. Not with the Multiple Event Registration add-on right now. You can do that the default registration process though.

  3. If you’re editing all the events in the series, then no. However, if registration closes on the day of the event then you can let the event close and the sale ends too.

Thanks for the responses.

Sadly, I think the answers to #2 & 3 will prevent us from using EE for our ticketing right now. I’ll try a few more things to see if I can get what I need, but it seems like the hurdles may be too high for us.

We love the plug-in for our class registrations, that’s why we were looking at ticketing as well.

Thanks again.
