Hi,

I am developing a website that will act as a booking system for children to visit Santa Claus.

We have seen the following website http://www.glenarmcastle.com/booking-christmas-tickets-2014.aspx

This system allows users to select a time slot.
It allows Adults and Children to book their places however only the childrens places are counted towards the limit per timeslot.

For example there are 10 places per 15 minute timeslot ( these are only deducted for children bookings)
If a family book 2 adults and 2 children only 2 places are taken off the available 10 places.

When the timeslot is full ideally it becomes unavailable to select.

It is important obviously that no double bookings can happen.

Can we also release tickets incrementally so when the initial days sell out more are released.

Once the number of adults and children are selected a form needs to appear at the next stage so each child selected can input their details, ie – sex of child and did they visit Santa last year. Also what they are interested in. ( ie football)

Going forward we require the facility to change prices, dates and amount of days for the next years event. We also need the ability to perhaps set different pricing levels. So for example a 10% discount for early bird bookings.

Can your system do this or be adapted to do these functions?

Almost. With EE4 you can do timeslots with a limit on each one. But each registrant counts towards the limit. You might get around that by only having the child as the registrant, but customize the questions to gather information on the parent in the child’s registration.

Thanks Sidney,

So could we have a text field to input the amount of adults attending and if needed other data such as names? Also if the child is the registrant, does this cause any issues when an adult is the one using the payment processor?

Many thanks
David

Sidney,

I forgot to say in the last post.

Although the adults are not part of the limit per time slot we still need to charge for them. How do we get around this?

Hi David,

How about setting the adult ticket as required?

Then at minimum an adult ticket will be required to complete a registration. These scenarios will be covered:

1 adult
Multiple adults
1 adult + 1 child
Multiple adults + multiple children
